Work Environment

This role is based out of our outpatient therapy office, situated conveniently in Yonkers, a vibrant community located just north of New York City. Our facility is designed to provide a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for patients, featuring specialized treatment rooms and exercise areas equipped with state-of-the-art modalities to aid in recovery. Our onsite coordinators ensure a seamless patient experience, allowing you to focus solely on delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical evaluations to assess patients' range of motion, strength, balance, gait patterns, and functional limitations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, aiming to achieve specific rehabilitation goals through targeted exercise regimens and therapeutic modalities, such as heat therapy or manual therapy.
• Implement treatment interventions that focus on improving strength, flexibility, and balance while addressing pain management strategies tailored to each patient.
• Guide and instruct patients in proper walking techniques, incorporating assistive devices when necessary, while putting significant emphasis on fall prevention techniques.
• Assist patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, and transitioning safely, empowering them to achieve greater independence.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on safe exercise techniques and home exercise programs to promote ongoing health and wellness post-discharge.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting progress notes, treatment plans, and functional assessments to track patient improvements and inform future care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with elderly patients in a supportive outpatient setting. Your expertise will guide patients through common age-related conditions including arthritis, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease, focusing on enhancing their quality of life through personalized and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required. Additional degrees such as a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy are preferred.
• A valid Physical Therapy license in the State of New York must be maintained.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to design specific treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and their families.
• A genuine passion for helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their functional capabilities.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of hands-on clinical experience in physical therapy is required, preferably in an outpatient or assisted living setting.
• Experience working with geriatric populations, particularly addressing their unique rehabilitation needs.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation practices is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging between $100,000 and $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition, our benefits package includes:
