About the Role
The Company is seeking an AVP for Retail Business Development to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business development strategies in collaboration with retail and brokerage partners to maximize revenue opportunities. This role is pivotal in serving as the primary external and internal contact for product support, quality service, and the overall fulfillment of multiline needs. The AVP will also lead efforts to enhance the company's corporate profile, effectiveness, and reputation by deepening and extending broker relationships and brand awareness. Key tasks include identifying and qualifying new agency relationships, creating plans to support business unit goals, and managing a dynamic prospect list to ensure sustainable, profitable growth. Applicants for the AVP position should be highly visible and well-known in the agency community, with existing relationships in the local brokerage community being mission-critical. A minimum of 8 years' of industry experience is required, with a strong background in underwriting, product development, risk management, distribution strategy, needs assessment, and client relationship management. The role demands a deep understanding of agent and broker marketing and distribution strategies, as well as strong business development, client engagement, and relationship management skills. The ideal candidate will be a primary source of business intelligence, capable of distributing regular communications on key relationships, and will be expected to actively manage meeting calendars and follow-ups with key agency partners.
