Grant Accountant

LHH is supporting one of our well-established non-profit clients on this temp to hire grant accountant position. This role will begin fully onsite and eventually offer a hybrid schedule with offices located in Manhattan. This role will support the financial management of a portfolio of NYC and NYS government grants, ensuring compliance, accurate reporting, and effective budget tracking. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with PASSPort and strong grant lifecycle knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of government grants, including budgeting, tracking and reporting
• Monitor grant budgets and expenditures to ensure proper allocation and compliance with funder requirements
• Prepare and submit financial vouchers, claims, and reimbursement requests to government agencies
• Track revenue, receivables, and cash flow related to assigned grant portfolios
• Maintain and update grant information in the NYC PASSPort system, including budget uploads, modifications and reporting
• Ensure all required grant documentation is submitted accurately and timely through funder portals

Qualifications

• 1+ year of grant accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with NYC PASSPort system a plus
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis

Compensation: $35 - $40/hr, depending on experience.
