Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a high school setting near Lakewood, OH for the upcoming academic year. This contract-based role invites dedicated educators to support and empower high school students with diverse learning needs, working with a manageable caseload of 24 students.
Ideal candidates are passionate about fostering growth and success in students with disabilities, skilled in individualized instruction, and committed to cultivating an inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Active Ohio Department of Education (ODE) K-12 Intervention Specialist license required
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for high school students
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and classroom management
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Previous experience in a high school special education setting is beneficial
Position Details:
- Contract term: August 3rd, 2026 – June 4th, 2027
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Grade Level: High School
- Caseload: 24 students
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and staff
- Track student progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administration
- Foster a positive learning environment that promotes student growth and engagement
