Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and maintain detailed records from the initial consultation through the entire treatment process to ensure comprehensive care.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health using validated assessment tools, identifying issues and strengths that will guide treatment planning.
\n
• Develop individualized intervention plans that reflect clients' specific needs in collaboration with families and support teams, including therapeutic strategies for individuals, couples, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, using evidence-based practices to foster mental health improvement.
\n
• Monitor client progress regularly, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to align with evolving needs.
\n
• Work collaboratively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and medical doctors, to create integrated care plans that address the full spectrum of clients' health.

• Provide follow-up and support to clients admitted to hospitals, ensuring continuity of care and effective transition back to outpatient counseling.
\n
• Identify behaviors that may impede recovery and develop strategies for prevention and support.
\n
• Assist families and primary caregivers in managing mental health challenges, providing guidance and resources to enhance familial support systems.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily involve a diverse clientele within the community health setting, including individuals facing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse. Our clients range from youth to adults, and we emphasize culturally competent and sensitive counseling practices to address the unique experiences and backgrounds of each individual.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas is mandatory.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is essential.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, is preferred.
\n
• Familiarity with modern psychotherapeutic techniques and best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) is highly valued.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively engage and support clients and their families.

Preferred Experience\n
