About The Role
The Director of Business Development is a senior, revenue-driving role responsible for accelerating new membership growth and sponsorship revenue while building andmaintainingstrong relationships across the blockchain, fintech, and emerging technology landscape.
This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial, well-connected professional with experience spanning sales, partnerships, and public policy engagement. The Director will ownmembership and sponsorship business development, manage the full sales lifecycle, and represent TheDigitalChamber across industry and government-adjacent forums.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute TDC’smembership sales strategy, including outbound outreach and inbound lead conversion.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and pipeline development through proposal creation, negotiation, and close.
- Identifyand pursue new revenue opportunities acrossmemberships, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design, price, and pitch sponsorship packages for TDC events and programs, including the annual DC Blockchain Summit.
- Collaborate with internalstakeholders to align sponsorship offerings withmember andpartnerobjectives.
- Represent TheDigitalChamber at industry conferences, partner events, andmembermeetings.
- Maintainaccuratepipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting in TDC’s CRM.
- Provide regular updates on revenue performance, deal progress, and market insights.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of experience in business development, partnership& eventsales, or sponsorship sales, ideally withindigitalassets, emerging technology, fintech, ortrade associationsectors.
- Strong understanding ofdigitalassets, blockchain, and fintech policy landscape.
- Proven ability to communicate with senior executives and policymakers in both corporate and government settings.
- Excellent presentation, writing, and negotiation skills.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Self-starter who thrives in a mission-driven, entrepreneurial, fast-pacedenvironment.
- Willingness to travel for conferences, events, and meetings (approximately30%).
- Team-player and collaborative partner.
- This a full-time, hybrid role. We are in office Tuesday-Thursday.
