And so much more.​   ​Come break through with us.  Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.Role Purpose:Engineering leader responsible for new products, new processes, and serving as the MIE site lead at the Diesel plant. This role provides strategic input for plant objectives, capital planning, controlled assumptions, and policies while partnering early with innovation and program teams to manage decisions, tradeoffs, resources, and plans of record. The leader ensures new products are successfully transferred to manufacturing with clear criteria, strong cross-functional engagement, and alignment to performance and profitability goals. Working closely with Commercial, Technology, and Manufacturing teams, this role establishes shared objectives, metrics, and deliverables; drives process capability and product performance improvements; and champions the use of MEE, MIE, DMAIC, PQA, and LEAN tools. Responsibilities also include supporting manufacturing through technology and process enhancements, defect root-cause investigations, and resolution of process instability. The position requires the ability to regularly walk and stand for up to eight hours per day. Key Responsibilities:Provide strong process engineering leadership for new product, process, and technology development using rigorous methodologies and tools, including SA, PA, PPA, DAs, MEE, and MIE.Coordinate and manage manufacturing resources needed to support, receive, and implement new products and processes, while promoting co-innovation and a “pull mentality” that brings innovation into manufacturing with effective quality, performance, and cost controls.Ensure local innovation processes—including the MIE playbook, PQA, NPI, and decision-making processes—are followed effectively; leverage subject matter experts and participate in the MIE Community of Practice.Define and deliver Operational Readiness for new products and processes to ensure plant systems are established before production start-up.Apply experimental design, scientific methods, engineering principles, and data analysis to understand process interactions, optimize critical processes, reduce variability, and solve production issues.Communicate work, solutions, and direction effectively through clear, actionable presentations for leadership.Supervise engineers and technicians within the new products group, providing objectives, direction, and oversight for direct reports.Travel requirement: Minimal travel, less than 5%.Work schedule: 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday, typically 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with support for off-hours experiments and troubleshooting as needed.Experiences/Education - Required:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Ceramic, Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.Minimum of 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or development, including at least 2 years of direct manufacturing interaction.Broad process engineering background with the ability to develop new products and processes, identify new technology needs, and recognize capability constraints.Ability to identify and clearly articulate problem statements, develop solution paths, and support data-driven decision-making.Working knowledge of Excel and a statistical analysis package to evaluate experimental results and conduct capability studies.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work under general supervision with clearly defined objectives.Experiences/Education - Desired:Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record and general knowledge of Celcor products and processes.Experience supporting new product introductions and using MIE tools, including knowledge of materials processing and the transfer of technology and processes from development through production.Demonstrated formal problem-solving leadership skills, using MEE tools to develop fundamental understanding and PEx tools such as Six Sigma DMAIC and LEAN to drive improvement.Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a multicultural environment and across the stages of innovation.Results-oriented, highly committed professional with a positive, “can-do” attitude, strong technical curiosity, initiative, and drive.Open, engaging, flexible team player with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interface with others.This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $106,400.00 - $146,300.00 assuming full time status.
