Director of Operations

Cantrell Schuette is seeking a Director of Operations to lead and strengthen the firm’s non-legal business operations, including marketing, intake, finance, administration, technology, and related support functions. This position is a member of the firm’s Leadership Team and will work closely with executive leadership to improve the people, processes, data, structure, and financial discipline needed to support continued growth. The position is in-office Cantrell Schuette operates under the Entrepreneurial Operating System (“EOS”). While experience in an EOS business is not required, it is preferred. The Director of Operations will report to the Firm’s Integrator/Managing Partner. The Director of Operations will initially focus on day-to-day operational execution, with particular responsibility for intake performance, financial oversight, administrative operations, and technology. The Director of Operations will also assist the Managing Partner with cross-departmental issue coordination. About Cantrell Schuette Cantrell Schuette is a law firm committed to correcting injustice. The firm currently represents clients in matters involving franchisee rights, employee rights, complex business disputes, and personal injury. Since beginning an intentional growth initiative in late 2024, the firm has grown from four employees to 24 employees. The firm plans to grow to approximately 50 employees by the end of 2028. The firm’s Tampa office is currently located near Westchase and may move to a more centralized location in mid-2027. The Director of Operations will be accountable for: Elevating marketing, intake, finance, administration, and technology. Strengthening operational and financial reporting. Proactively searching for, identifying, and solving cross-departmental issues or improvement gaps. Building scalable systems, teams, and processes. Supporting the firm’s strategic plan and annual priorities. Key Responsibilities Elevating the firm’s non-legal business operations, including marketing, intake, finance, administration, and technology. Translate Leadership Team decisions into clear owners, deadlines, and measurable outcomes. Hold finance and administrative executives accountable for scorecards, quarterly projects, budgets, core processes, and results. Identify and resolve operational issues, bottlenecks, and performance gaps. Lead executive-level special projects unrelated to the legal practices. Ensure accurate and timely operational and financial reporting. Monitor key metrics, including lead volume, intake performance, client sign-ups, conversion rates, collections, expenses, profitability, and data accuracy. Partner with and supervise the finance team on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, payroll, bonuses, and major expenditures. Hold departments accountable for operating within approved budgets. Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop operational leaders and team members. Help ensure the right people are in the right seats with clear expectations and measurable responsibilities. Support workforce planning, performance management, compensation, organizational structure, and office administration. Improve the firm’s operational technology, systems, automation, and processes. Oversee major vendors and ensure strong performance, reliability, and cost control. Lead major operational projects, including technology implementations, process improvements, office expansion, and organizational changes. Build scalable infrastructure that supports growth without sacrificing service, culture, profitability, or accountability. Required Qualifications At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in operations, finance, sales, marketing, intake, or a related business function. Demonstrated record of success and advancement within growing companies. Experience leading managers and holding multiple departments accountable for results. Strong understanding of profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow, budgets, forecasts, and department-level performance reporting. Experience in marketing and/or sales. Ability to convert strategic priorities into executable plans and measurable outcomes. Strong business judgment and the ability to work effectively with executives, managers, professionals, and other stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to identify root causes, confront difficult issues, and facilitate practical solutions. Exceptional organization, follow-through, communication, and project-management skills. High intelligence, discipline, initiative, and personal accountability. Willingness to work outside traditional business hours when reasonably necessary for an executive leadership position. Preferred Qualifications MBA or other relevant advanced degree. Experience in a law firm, professional-services company, high-growth company, or multi-department operating environment. Experience with the Entrepreneurial Operating System, or another formal business operating system. Experience helping an organization scale through significant growth. Substantial experience in marketing and sales, plus strong understanding of financial statements. Success in This Position Success will be measured by the Director’s ability to: Improve intake responsiveness, follow-up, conversion, and quality. Identify key gaps in data and reporting relating to marketing, intake, and finance. Ensure reliable financial budgeting, forecasting, collections, and financial visibility. Ensure quarterly goals and major initiatives are completed on time individually and throughout non-legal departments. Ensure process compliance and reduce recurring operational issues.
