Work Environment\n

This position is remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home while maintaining a strong connection with colleagues and patients. You will collaborate closely with a knowledgeable team of geriatric psychiatrists and mental health professionals to provide holistic care. The work schedule spans from Monday to Friday, with typical hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, although you may need to accommodate occasional evening shifts based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the needs and challenges of elderly patients, ensuring accurate diagnosis and formulation of treatment plans.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment strategies that consider cognitive changes, physical health considerations, and socio-environmental factors.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, focusing on the management of geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Work collaboratively with geriatric psychiatrists and other professionals to facilitate integrated care, actively participating in case discussions and treatment strategy reviews.

• Offer crisis intervention support for elderly patients experiencing acute mental health emergencies, ensuring timely access to necessary resources.

• Educate patients and their families about various mental health conditions, teaming with them in understanding treatment options and connecting them to community support services.

• Maintain detailed and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on elderly patients who are navigating complex mental health challenges. Many of these individuals may be dealing with severe emotional distress stemming from life changes associated with aging, including cognitive decline, loss of loved ones, and adjustments to home or community living. In this role, you will directly contribute to improving their mental health outcomes and overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Nevada.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, with a strong focus on geriatric mental health treatment.

• In-depth understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities and interventions.

• Experience in delivering individual and family therapy tailored to older adults, possessing excellent patient interaction skills.

• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications relevant to mental health documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum requirement is two years of post-licensure experience, candidates with more extensive experience working with geriatric populations or those who have actively engaged in specialized training in geriatric psychiatry will be highly valued. This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 104,000 annually, reflecting your experience and expertise.
