This full-time role will be primarily remote, utilizing telehealth to provide exceptional support to elderly clients facing mental health challenges. Work Environment\nThis role embraces a fully remote work setting, allowing for flexibility and a healthy work-life balance, while ensuring that our licensed counselors can connect with elderly clients through secure telehealth platforms. The regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing counselors to maintain a consistent routine that encourages effective care delivery.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify individualized care needs and challenges. \n
- Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing emotional difficulties related to aging, loss, and life transitions. \n
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to each geriatric client. \n
- Provide education and support to family members and healthcare staff on best practices for promoting emotional wellness among seniors. \n
- Offer grief and loss counseling to both clients and their families, guiding them through the complexities of end-of-life issues. \n
- Design and implement cognitive stimulation and mental health intervention programs that enhance cognitive abilities and emotional health in elderly populations. \n
Our focus is on geriatric clients, specifically seniors facing various mental health challenges including depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders. Counselors will be expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique emotional needs of this population and to apply culturally sensitive treatment approaches that respect the diverse backgrounds of clients.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation. \n
- At least 4 years of recent and relevant experience in geriatric mental health counseling. \n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with elderly clients. \n
- Empathic and culturally sensitive approach to therapy, recognizing the unique challenges of diverse elder populations. \n
- Proficient in conducting assessments and creating personalized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices. \n
- Knowledge of ethical and legal standards applicable to geriatric mental health counseling. \n

- Specialization or additional training in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues is highly desirable. \n
- Prior experience providing counseling services in a telehealth setting is a plus. \n
- Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other modern therapeutic techniques. \n
