This full-time remote position involves providing expert mental health therapy specifically tailored to the geriatric population. This role offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to create a balanced work-life dynamic while contributing to an essential service. Our team operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments that take into account the cognitive, emotional, and social factors influencing the lives of older adults.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that are tailored to each patient's unique circumstances and therapeutic needs, including issues related to memory loss and adjustment to aging.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions—such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and family counseling—to address various geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Work closely with our geriatric psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated and comprehensive mental health care.

• Provide crisis intervention services and immediate support for elderly patients experiencing mental health emergencies.
\n
• Educate patients and their family members about mental health conditions, treatment options, and local resources they can access for additional support.
\n
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of patient interactions in accordance with legal and ethical standards while utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development workshops to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge of geriatric mental health.

• Stay updated on best practices and advancements in the field of geriatric psychiatry through ongoing research and training.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, addressing their unique mental health requirements and challenges. You will engage with elderly patients experiencing a wide array of conditions including but not limited to depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and the emotional hurdles associated with aging and caregiving.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health therapy, particularly working with elderly patients is preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and familiarity with therapeutic modalities effective for this population.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with elderly patients and their families.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure accurate and secure patient documentation.

Compensation and Benefits\n
