Purpose Move cases from litigation transfer through resolution by executing strong discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation in close partnership with leadership and legal support teams.. Most Critical Outcome (MCO) Cases are prepared, defended, and resolved with strong discovery, expert support, and trial readiness, protecting case value and client outcomes with minimal risk or rework. Requirements To be successful in this role, the individual must be able to perform the essential duties of the role and meet the performance expectations of the seat. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Manage a caseload of litigated personal injury matters from transfer through settlement, mediation, or trial. Drive medical record development, expert coordination, and treatment documentation to support damages and liability. Monitor lien exposure and case economics to protect recovery. Discovery, Motion Practice & Trial Preparation Conduct written discovery, depositions, and motion practice in accordance with firm strategy and court rules. Prepare cases for mediation and trial, including witness preparation, exhibit development, and trial strategy support. Strategy & Valuation Alignment Develop case strategy in partnership with the Litigation Attorney Manager and Director of Litigation. Do not set final MSV or settlement authority independently. Escalate high-risk, high-value, or complex matters for leadership approval. Lead Screening & Client Confidence Support Intake, Pre-Litigation, and Litigation leadership in screening complex or litigated leads as requested. Participate in consultations when needed to reinforce confidence in the firm’s litigation posture. Paralegal & Team Collaboration Work closely with paralegals, file clerks, and legal assistants to ensure timely filings, discovery responses, and trial preparation. Provide clear direction and legal guidance to support staff assigned to cases. Litigation Readiness & Case Transfer Maintain complete, organized, and defensible case files. Prepare cases for mediation, trial, or resolution without documentation gaps or deadline risk. Risk, Compliance & Professional Standards Protect the firm by meeting all court deadlines, statutes of limitation, ethical requirements, and firm policies. Maintain professional conduct with clients, opposing counsel, and the court. QUALIFICATIONS & PROFICIENCIES Juris Doctor (JD) and active Texas Bar license in good standing. 3+ years experience in civil litigation or personal injury litigation preferred. Strong understanding of discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Ability to manage deadlines, documentation, and multiple cases. Strong communication and analytical skills.
