Job Description Payroll Coordinator

Santa Monica, CA (Onsite 5 Days/Week) A well-established global media and entertainment organization is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join its payroll team. This role is ideal for someone with strong payroll processing experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys partnering with employees and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely payroll operations.

Responsibilities Process multi-frequency payrolls from start to finish Audit and reconcile HR and payroll data to ensure accuracy Research and resolve payroll discrepancies Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including multi-state taxation Reconcile payroll integrations and bank files Process employee garnishments and payroll adjustments Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner Prepare payroll reports and ad hoc analysis for internal stakeholders Support payroll-related projects and process improvements Stay current on payroll laws and regulations

Qualifications 2+ years of payroll processing experience Experience with ADP Workforce Now is required Knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Intermediate Excel skills Understanding of payroll compliance, wage and hour laws, and payroll best practices Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently

Nice to Have Experience supporting union payrolls Experience in media, entertainment, or similarly fast-paced industries Exposure to SOX-compliant environments

Additional Information Full-time contract opportunity Monday-Friday schedule Onsite in Santa Monica Competitive hourly compensation Opportunity to work with a nationally recognized organization and collaborative payroll team To be considered, candidates must have recent ADP Workforce Now experience.
