Client Accounting & Payroll Consultant

Position SummaryThe Client Accounting & Payroll Consultant will serve as the primary point of contact for payroll services while managing an assigned portfolio of bookkeeping clients. This individual will be responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and timely, maintaining client accounting records, preparing financial reports, and providing exceptional service to our clients.The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working directly with clients to solve problems and provide practical accounting support. Primary ResponsibilitiesPayroll Services - Serve as the primary contact for payroll clients. - Process multi-client payrolls on biweekly, semi-monthly, monthly, and other payroll schedules as needed. - Onboard new payroll clients and establish payroll records. - Set up new employees and process employee terminations. - Process wage, salary, and payroll deduction changes. - Maintain employee payroll records and related documentation. - Review payroll reports for accuracy prior to processing. - Respond promptly to payroll questions and resolve client concerns. - Coordinate payroll-related communications with clients and government agencies when necessary. - Ensure payroll services are completed accurately and on schedule.Client Accounting Services - Manage an assigned portfolio of bookkeeping clients. - Record and maintain accurate financial transactions. - Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and other balance sheet accounts. - Review financial information for completeness and accuracy. - Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting reports. - Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues. - Communicate with clients regarding bookkeeping questions and financial activity. - Provide practical accounting support and recommendations to clients. - Maintain organized client records and documentation.Client Service - Develop professional, long-term relationships with clients. - Deliver exceptional service through timely communication and follow-up. - Manage multiple client deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. - Work independently while collaborating with the firm when needed. - Escalate tax matters and complex accounting issues to the owner when appropriate.Professional Experience Required - Minimum of five (5) years of bookkeeping experience. - Minimum of three (3) years of experience processing payroll for multiple clients. - Experience managing multiple client relationships simultaneously. - Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.Technical SkillsRequired - Proficiency using QuickBooks Desktop. - Experience processing payroll for multiple clients. - Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Outlook. - Ability to learn firm software and technology efficiently.Preferred - Experience with QuickBooks Desktop Payroll. - Experience working in a public accounting or tax firm environment.Compensation & Benefits - Competitive hourly compensation based on experience. - Paid Time Off for eligible employees. - Retirement plan with employer matching for eligible employees. - Professional, supportive, and collaborative work environment. - Meaningful client relationships and a consistent year-round schedule. - Opportunity for continued professional growth and increased responsibility.Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $24.00 - $36.00Job SummaryJob number: 585697Profession: Accounting/Finance
