Research Associate

Research Associate – Assay Development Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading life sciences organization to identify a Research Associate for an onsite opportunity near Tucson, AZ. Responsibilities: Design and execute experimental protocols with minimal supervision, including making observations, collecting data, and analyzing results. Conduct research and development laboratory experiments to support assay development projects. Prepare technical reports, experimental summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses. Present experimental results and findings to project teams. Maintain complete and accurate laboratory documentation in compliance with applicable quality requirements, including GMP, GLP, and Design Control. Troubleshoot laboratory and experimental issues and implement appropriate corrective actions. Collaborate with team members by providing technical input and creative solutions to project planning. Contribute ideas for process improvements and laboratory efficiency. Assist in identifying and documenting potentially patentable inventions. Train colleagues on laboratory procedures and techniques as needed. Monitor work to ensure quality standards and continuous adherence to the Quality First Time principle. Exercise sound judgment when selecting appropriate methods and techniques for complex laboratory problems. Search and evaluate scientific literature to support experimental design and project activities. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a closely related scientific discipline. 2-4 years of relevant post-college laboratory experience. Hands-on experience with specialized wet laboratory techniques. Proficiency with pipetting, balances, stir plates, solution preparation, and related laboratory techniques. Experience designing, executing, documenting, and interpreting laboratory experiments. Strong data analysis and quantitative skills. Experience preparing technical reports, protocols, summaries, and presentations. Strong attention to detail Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Coachable with a strong willingness and ability to learn new techniques and methodologies.
