Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and elderly populations through standardized assessments and hands-on observational techniques.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that reflect both immediate and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions that focus on communication clarity, linguistic development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing needs.
- Engage in collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to forge unified care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families, empowering them to support their progress beyond the clinical setting.
- Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless continuum of care throughout their healing journey.
- Maintain meticulous and timely records aligned with pertinent state, federal, and organizational policies.
- Pursue ongoing professional development through continued education and peer interaction.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet certified by ASHA.
- State licensure is required as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- CCC-SLP certification from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in implementing evidence-based treatments across all ages, with a strong foundation in speech, language, and swallowing disorders, whether developmental or acquired.
- Outstanding communication abilities with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to adapt therapy methods to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment combined with adept problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
