Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients experiencing acute or chronic pain using evidence-based practices.
• Perform minor surgical procedures and interventions under supervision, such as joint injections or nerve blocks, ensuring safety and efficacy.
• Document patient encounters meticulously in our electronic health record (EHR) system, developing detailed treatment plans and ensuring compliance with hospital protocols.
• Conduct thorough examinations and history assessments, employing diagnostic tools to identify causes and contributing factors of pain.
• Educate patients on pain management strategies, including pharmacological treatments, physical therapy options, and lifestyle modifications to enhance overall health.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians to formulate and adjust individualized care plans based on ongoing assessments and patient feedback.
• Participate in team meetings and case discussions, contributing insights that enhance patient outcomes and departmental initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses primarily on a diverse range of patients with various pain-related conditions, including, but not limited to, musculoskeletal disorders, neuropathic pain, and post-operative recovery. Many patients may also have overlapping chronic conditions that require a comprehensive treatment approach. As a Physician Assistant in pain management, you will be pivotal in assessing the patients' unique needs and collaborating to implement effective pain management protocols that enhance their overall well-being.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Possession of a current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
