Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough initial interviews and mental health evaluations to assess clients' emotional and psychological needs.

• Document and maintain accurate records from the initial consultation through to discharge, ensuring continuity of care.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices and align with clients’ goals.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing diverse therapeutic modalities tailored to clients' specific needs.

• Continuously monitor and document client progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care.

• Serve as a liaison between clients and psychiatrists, ensuring timely communication regarding any medication adjustments needed for clients in crisis.

• Identify and address behaviors or systemic issues that may hinder recovery, advocating for clients and their families as they work toward wellness.

• Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers in managing mental and behavioral challenges within the family context.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Jersey.

• Proven track record of success through a passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on establishing rapport with clients and colleagues.

Preferred Experience\n

• Significant experience working as a mental health counselor, with demonstrated proficiency in conducting evaluations and developing treatment plans.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to promote efficient documentation and care coordination.

• Experience addressing co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders, providing holistic support to clients.

• Knowledge of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and the ability to integrate these into your work.

• In-depth understanding of pharmaceutical interventions prescribed by healthcare professionals, enhancing the support given to clients undergoing such treatments.
