Lecturer Pool - History AY 2026/2027 Position: Lecturer Academic Year: 2026/2027 College: College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences Department: History Pool Overview The Department of History at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an ongoing basis for a pool of part‑time lecturers. The pool is used to fill short‑term temporary Lecturer positions that may last from one day to a full semester. Applicants in this pool are considered for the current academic year only. The pool will be closed effective May 31. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15. Minimum Qualifications A master’s degree or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field. According to the California State University Out‑of‑State Employment Policy, the CSU prohibits hiring employees to perform CSU‑related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community in teaching and, as applicable, service. Salary Salary is commensurate with credential and experience. Anticipated hiring ranges for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification are: Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 – $6,677 per full‑time month Lecturer B – AY: $6,221 – $13,224 per full‑time month The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
