This position is designed to be fully remote, allowing you to provide counseling services from the comfort of your home while supporting students in a school environment. You will collaborate closely with educational staff, clinical directors, and other mental health professionals to create a therapeutic atmosphere conducive to recovery and personal growth. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify the counseling needs of students, including evaluation for substance use disorders utilizing DSM criteria.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that address the specific substance abuse issues of each client, aligned with ASAM guidelines.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that promote healing and recovery among students and their families.
\n
• Create comprehensive discharge plans and outline continuity of care strategies to support clients transitioning to appropriate levels of care.
\n
• Document all counseling interactions, assessments, and progress notes in the client's clinical record to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available.
\n
• Maintain an active caseload, conducting regular case management and treatment planning updates as necessary.
\n
• Coordinate and document support services for clients and their families, ensuring comprehensive engagement in the recovery process.
\n
• Collaborate with external referral sources, including legal entities, schools, and employers, to ensure a well-rounded support system for clients.
\n
• Utilize a multidisciplinary team approach to respond effectively to crisis-oriented situations, ensuring quick and appropriate interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is to provide mental health support to students struggling with co-occurring disorders, including those with emotional, behavioral, and substance use challenges. You will work closely with young clients from diverse backgrounds, fostering recovery and resilience in a school environment where students can face unique challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A current and valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in New Jersey.
\n
• A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
\n
• Proficient understanding of best practices in substance abuse counseling and mental health treatment.
\n
• Strong professional boundaries, cultural competence, and excellent organization and time management skills.
\n
• Ability to engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide the best care for clients.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in school-based counseling or working with youth populations is highly desirable.
\n
• Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and experience handling crisis situations.
\n
• Previous experience with co-occurring disorders and a strong understanding of related therapeutic techniques.

Compensation and Benefits\n
