IT Field Technician

Just Salad is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and technically skilled professional with a strong ability to problem-solve and a passion for continuous learning. The IT Technician will report to the Director of IT and serve as a key resource for all IT-related queries across 120+ locations (NYC, FL, CHI, NJ, PA) and Corporate (100+ members). This role spans traditional IT support, cybersecurity practices, and emerging AI-powered tooling. In line with Just Salad's mission to make everyday health and sustainability possible, you will also support initiatives to reduce Just Salad's environmental footprint.


Reports to the Director of IT Field Tech

Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure & Support

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components to ensure optimal usability across all sites

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on Windows and Mac environments

• Proactively upgrade systems and monitor performance to sustain 99%+ uptime across all machines

• Adhere to electrical safety standards and maintain disciplined cable management at all locations

• Repair or replace damaged hardware efficiently to minimize operational downtime

• Execute new store installations across multiple markets, including network setup and device provisioning

• Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for knowledge base development

Help Desk & Ticketing (Freshservice)

• Manage and resolve IT Help Desk tickets through Freshservice in a process-oriented, SLA-compliant manner

• Triage, categorize, and prioritize incoming requests; escalate complex issues appropriately

• Maintain clear, timely communication with end users throughout the ticket lifecycle

• Identify recurring issues and proactively propose permanent solutions to reduce ticket volume

IT Cybersecurity

• Support implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity policies across all locations and corporate users

• Monitor systems for security vulnerabilities, suspicious activity, and policy violations

• Assist with endpoint protection, access control, and user security awareness initiatives

• Participate in security audits, risk assessments, and incident response procedures

• Maintain compliance with data protection standards and internal IT security protocols

AI Integrations & Emerging Technology

• Assist in the evaluation, deployment, and support of AI-powered tools and automations across business operations

• Collaborate with the IT Director to integrate AI solutions into existing workflows (e.g., helpdesk automation, predictive maintenance, operations tooling)

• Monitor and maintain AI integration performance, flagging anomalies or inefficiencies

Reporting & Analytics

• Generate and distribute regular IT performance reports including ticket trends, uptime metrics, hardware inventory, and SLA compliance

• Build and maintain dashboards within Freshservice and other platforms to provide real-time visibility into IT operations

• Analyze data to identify operational gaps and present findings with actionable recommendations to the Director of IT

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Computer Science or a related field (Bachelor's preferred)

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in computer networks, systems maintenance, or IT support

• Hands-on experience with Freshservice or a comparable ITSM/help desk platform

• Familiarity with cybersecurity fundamentals (endpoint security, access management, threat monitoring)

• Exposure to AI tools, automation platforms, or IT integrations is a strong plus

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) accreditation is advantageous

• Proficiency in software installation, database basics, and systems administration

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities with a willingness to learn

• Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus, but not required

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

• Willingness to travel 70% of the time; weekend on-call availability may be required and software components to ensure optimal usability across all sites

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on Windows and Mac environments

Benefits

• Annual Salary $69,000 - $72,000 - Salary dependent on experience. Eligible to participate in the corporate bonus program
