Project Accountant

Opportunity We are seeking a Project Accountant who is responsible for all accounting and administrative duties related to their assigned projects. This position will have a complete understanding of costs charged to the assigned projects and be able to analyze job financial performance and assist the project manager and other project accountants with job budgets and projections. Key Responsibilities Assist Project Accountants and Project Managers with job cost analysis and projections. Set up jobs within Vista Viewpoint. Enter job estimates into Vista. Perform job cost analysis. Update backlog projections in Vista based on feedback from the Project Manager. Enter owner change orders. Prepare billings and effectively communicate with Project Managers and Principals in Charge regarding contract documents and change orders related to billing. Payroll entry and verification if applicable. Purchase order closings. Assist with additional tasks assigned by the Project Accounting Manager and Job Cost Manager. Work with Project Managers to keep accounts receivable current on projects. Provide training to Associate Project Accountants as needed. Perform other projects and duties as assigned. Who We're Looking For Associate degree or higher in Accounting or Business Administration. Minimum 5 years of experience in a project accountant or similar role. Office experience in a fast‑paced environment. Experience in the construction field is a plus. Experience with job budgeting and analysis. Experience with high‑volume payroll and/or invoicing. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, accounting software and databases (Vista Viewpoint desirable). A "can‑do" attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively with various teams. Efficient and accurate data entry. Local to York, Pennsylvania with occasional travel to other offices or off‑site meetings (flexibility to work from home when appropriate).
