Role Description The Relationship Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Grand Rapids, MI. This role is responsible for building and maintaining long‑term client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for individuals, families, and businesses. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include meeting with clients to understand their financial goals, coordinating financial analyses and planning recommendations, and partnering with internal specialists to deliver wealth management, retirement planning, insurance, and business planning solutions. The Relationship Manager will monitor client portfolios and plans, respond to inquiries, manage follow‑up activities, and ensure timely communication regarding market changes, product updates, and strategy adjustments. This role also involves supporting client events, maintaining accurate documentation, and adhering to regulatory and compliance requirements. Qualifications Strong client relationship and communication skills, including active listening, presentation abilities, and a service-oriented mindset. Financial planning and analysis capabilities, such as understanding of wealth management, retirement planning, insurance and risk management, and business succession strategies. Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple client engagements, track follow‑ups, and maintain accurate records. Collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal specialists, advisors, and support staff. Problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills to interpret client needs, evaluate options, and recommend appropriate financial strategies. Relevant experience in financial services, wealth management, or advisory roles is preferred, along with familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards. A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field is beneficial; industry licenses or certifications (such as securities, insurance, CFP) are a plus.
