Iconic landmark restaurant opening in Los Angeles as a landmark destination for contemporary American dining, and we're looking for an Executive Chef to lead it from the ground up. This is a rare chance to build a kitchen, define a menu, and shape an opening that the city will be talking about for years. Brasserie-style menu. The Role
As Executive Chef, you'll own the culinary vision for the restaurant — menu development, kitchen operations, staffing, and the standards that will define our reputation from day one. You'll work closely with ownership and the front-of-house leadership team to bring a cohesive, memorable dining experience to life, then run it at the highest level night after night.
What You'll Do- Develop and execute a contemporary American menu built on seasonal, local sourcing
- Build and lead the kitchen team, from sous chefs to line cooks, setting the tone for culture and craft
- Manage food cost, labor, and inventory without compromising quality
- Oversee kitchen operations, health and safety standards, and vendor relationships
- Partner with ownership on pre-opening planning: recipe development, staffing, equipment, and training
- Maintain consistency and excellence through service, and evolve the menu with the seasons
- Represent the restaurant's culinary identity to press, guests, and the LA dining community
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine at a high-volume, high-end restaurant
- A track record of leading a kitchen through a successful opening
- Deep knowledge of contemporary American cuisine and seasonal sourcing
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills — you build teams, not just menus
- Financial fluency: food cost management, labor optimization, P&L accountability
- A reputation for consistency, creativity, and calm under pressure
- Los Angeles market knowledge and relationships with local purveyors a plus
