Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement personalized physical therapy treatment plans tailored to prevent disability, relieve pain, develop muscle function, and maintain optimal performance according to each patient's capabilities.
• Oversee and provide guidance to physical therapy assistants to ensure the effective execution of patient care according to established plans.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patient function levels using diagnostic tests related to muscles, nerves, joints, and overall functional abilities.
• Assess the patient's home environment, making evidence-based recommendations that support rehabilitation efforts and enhance patient independence.
• Administer manual therapeutic exercises and instruct patients in both manual and non-manual activities, motivating and assisting them throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Deliver various treatments, including traction and massage, aimed at alleviating pain and promoting recovery using appropriate physical agents.
• Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with physicians to recommend necessary changes for optimized patient outcomes.
• Actively engage in the interdisciplinary team by participating in case conferences, contributing to the evaluation and planning of comprehensive treatment strategies.
• Maintain detailed clinical records including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries as per regulatory standards and company policy.
• Instruct patients and their families on the effective use and care of physical therapy devices, ensuring they understand their rehabilitation program fully.
• Respond promptly to any changes in patient conditions, documenting observations and adapting care plans in coordination with physicians and the case management team.
• Complete additional duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on orthopedic patients who require specialized rehabilitation services following surgery, injury, or chronic pain. Our patient population includes individuals of various ages and backgrounds, each with unique therapeutic needs. You will work closely with patients to empower them through education and support, fostering their engagement in the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• State licensure as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) issued by the Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in physical therapy, preferably within an orthopedic setting.
• Current CPR certification is mandatory.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of experience is required, we highly value candidates with additional backgrounds in orthopedic rehabilitation, familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), and those who have experience in a supervisory capacity, particularly regarding the training of physical therapy assistants.

Compensation and Benefits
