Percent time: Dependent upon position, ranging from part-time to full-time (10%-100%) Anticipated start: Academic year (AY) appointments start 7/1/2026; Fall semester appointments start 8/1/2026; Spring semester appointments start 1/1/2027 and Summer appointments run from May - August. Position descriptionThe Department of Neuroscience (NEU) at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of non-tenure track Lecturer positions to teach NEU courses as needed. Typically, lecturers will be hired to teach or co-teach a single course in a given semester or summer session. In rare occasions, a lecturer may be hired to teach or co-teach in several courses in the same semester.Teaching Responsibilities We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach/co-teach small, medium and large size lectures, seminar and/or laboratory courses in the subject areas listed below:Broad survey courses in neuroscienceMolecular, cellular and developmental neuroscienceCircuit, systems, and behavioral neuroscienceCognitive neuroscienceComputational neuroscience NeurotechnologyLaboratory courses in the above areasScientific communication and writingGeneral Duties In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), maintaining a course website, and using a learning management system( e.g. bCourses at UC Berkeley, Canvas, etc.).Department: QualificationsBasic qualifications(required at time of application)Minimum Basic Qualifications (at the time of application):Laboratory Courses and Lecturer Courses: A Master's degree (or equivalent international degree) is required by time of application.Additional qualifications(required at time of start)Lecturer Courses: A Ph.D or M.D. degree (or equivalent international degree) is required to teach a lecture course by the time of hire.Preferred qualificationsPreferred Qualifications (by start date):Lecture Courses: Documented experience in teaching one of the biological or life sciences at the college level.Laboratory Courses: Completion of all Ph.D (or equivalent international degree) requirements except dissertation in a biological field or life sciences.Application RequirementsDocument requirementsCurriculum Vitae - Your most recently updated C.V.
