Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity is for dedicated Special Education Teachers who are passionate about creating inclusive, nurturing environments for students in self-contained classrooms. Two positions are available: a full-time role (37.5 hours/week) and a half-time role (.5 position, with flexible scheduling options). Classrooms are supported by two full-time paraeducators, ensuring small group instruction and individualized attention.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid MDE Early Childhood Special Education Teaching License required
• Experience working with young children in a special education setting preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt instruction to individual learning styles and needs
• Commitment to fostering an encouraging, supportive classroom atmosphere

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction for two groups of 6-8 early learners requiring specialized support
• Develop and implement IEPs, adapting materials to meet students’ goals
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings every Monday
• Collaborate with paraeducators and related service providers for comprehensive support
• Serve as a floating substitute within the ECSE program as scheduled
• Engage with families to support each student’s educational growth
• Utilize creative teaching strategies to meet each child’s developmental milestones
