Work Environment\n

This position operates remotely, with therapy sessions conducted via telehealth or at our outpatient office. While the flexibility of remote work allows for a controlled environment, you also have the opportunity to engage directly with children and families in person, fostering deeper connections. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team, ensuring comprehensive care for all clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of children and adolescents either in-home or at our outpatient facility, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

• Implement therapeutic strategies focusing on anger management, social skills development, and effective coping mechanisms to help clients reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Assist families in enhancing decision-making skills to effectively manage in-home behavioral challenges, creating a harmonious home environment.
\n
• Collaborate with other professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and educators, as part of the Child Family Treatment Team to develop comprehensive treatment plans that address the multifaceted needs of each client.
\n
• Ensure timely submission of essential documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, complying with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss case progress, share insights, and collaboratively develop recommendations for ongoing treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position focuses primarily on a diverse population of children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 with a variety of developmental and intellectual disabilities. Your role is crucial in identifying their needs, addressing behavioral issues, and reinforcing positive development. Working with caregivers, you will provide guidance and support that fosters resilience and adaptive strategies.

Qualifications\n

• Possession of a Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in California is mandatory for this position.
\n
• Availability to commit to a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically between 4 PM and 7 PM; weekend availability is advantageous.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary to facilitate in-home visits.
\n
• A successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required to ensure safety and compliance.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least three years of experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, ideally in settings that provide mental health support to children and families.

• Demonstrated success in providing positive behavior support and interventions for youth exhibiting a range of behavioral challenges.
\n
• Experience specifically working with children diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.
\n
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is strongly preferred to effectively communicate with a broader client base.

Compensation and Benefits\n
