Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of a fully remote work environment while engaging in school-based initiatives aimed at improving student mental health. You will collaborate daily with educational staff and mental health professionals to create a supportive framework for students in need. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services to students experiencing major mental illness and/or severe emotional disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Conduct brief, developmentally appropriate screenings and assessments, followed by creating and implementing integrated care plans tailored to individual client needs.
• Participate in collaborative team meetings with educational staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student care.
• Assist with crisis interventions and provide guidance during critical moments, maintaining a safe environment for vulnerable clients.
• Manage a caseload effectively, offering individual, group, and family therapy according to each student's unique challenges.
• Monitor and document client progress, ensuring that all reports and data submissions are completed in a timely manner.
• Engage in outreach efforts within the school community to promote mental health awareness and resources available for students.
• Actively participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and improve service delivery.
• Be available for on-call coverage during and after program hours as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on students from diverse backgrounds who may be encountering significant emotional or psychological challenges. Many of these students come from underprivileged communities and may face barriers to accessing mental health care. By providing culturally relevant and individualized support, you will play a crucial role in their recovery journey, helping them navigate their academic and personal lives with resilience.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field is required.
• Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in a school or community health setting.
• Demonstrated ability to connect and build trust with clients from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team framework.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within educational institutions or with children and adolescents is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care approaches and evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Experience in crisis intervention and short-term therapy approaches.

Compensation and Benefits
