Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Travel)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Day Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Every other weekend required | Holiday support required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow unit, managing patient ratios of 2:1 (ICU) and 4–5:1 (PCU)
• Perform and assist with advanced bedside procedures including chest tube insertion, intubations, and other provider-directed interventions
• Manage patients requiring ventilator management , advanced hemodynamic monitoring, central line management, and critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors)
• Utilize Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) equipment, IV pumps, lift equipment, and other unit-specific technology; document in Cerner
• Conduct bedside shift reports as required by hospital policy; relief charge nurses are expected to perform nurse leader rounding
• Float to other units as needed per facility floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (or eligibility to obtain licensure in North Carolina)
• Minimum 2 years of experience, with Medical ICU experience in a large facility required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Strong critical thinking skills; ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a team

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with critical care pharmacology including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic documentation system
• Experience functioning in a charge or relief charge nurse capacity
• Prior travel nursing experience in an ICU or PCU/stepdown setting
