Step into a rewarding role supporting students with diverse learning needs as a dedicated Special Education Teacher in a collaborative classroom environment. You’ll play a key part in shaping educational journeys, working alongside two experienced paraprofessionals to foster tailored growth and achievement.

This contract opportunity features a structured schedule: two teaching sessions per day (7:45–11:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays are reserved for planning, ensuring you have ample time to prepare individualized lesson plans and contribute creative ideas to help every student succeed. Currently, you’ll be teaching a small group—three students in the morning session and four in the afternoon—with the potential for gradual increases as the school year progresses and more students are evaluated.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification in Special Education, with a strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Experience working with students who have a wide range of disabilities and support needs
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptability and a positive, student-centered approach

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on students’ IEPs
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other staff to maximize student success
• Maintain ongoing communication with families and related service providers
