Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time school-based position in Rio Rico, Arizona . Position Details

• Schedule: 40 hours per week

• Start Date: September 28, 2026

• Classroom Environment: Push-In/Push-Out

• Behavioral Support Level: Medium

• Medical Support Level: Level 2

• Interview Required: Yes (Virtual or In-Person)

Pay

• Up to $48/hour for qualified local candidates

• Travel opportunities may be available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide quality special education services to K-12 students

• Develop and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs)

• Deliver specialized instruction and academic support

• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff

• Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation

• Participate in planning and implementation of student programs

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Special Education Certification required

• Alternative certifications are not accepted

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred

• Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred

• Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Special Education classroom experience

• IEP development and implementation

• Behavioral support strategies

• Collaboration within multidisciplinary educational teams

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred

• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
