Assistant Controller

The Assistant Controller plays a critical role in managing the corporate financial operations and supporting the rapid expansion of our organization. Reporting directly to the V.P. of Finance, this individual will oversee the daily accounting functions, supervise the Accounting Manager and the Billings department, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and strong internal controls. As we embark on a high‑growth phase over the next 1–2 years, acquiring and developing new entities from scratch, the Assistant Controller will be instrumental in managing multi‑site financial data, executing small‑scale consolidations, and implementing scalable systems to support enterprise‑level growth. Financial Reporting & Consolidations: Prepare and analyze complex financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow). Oversee financial reporting for smaller entities and execute entity consolidations. M&A & Expansion Support: Act as a key financial stakeholder during rapid corporate expansion, assisting with data management, system integrations, and onboarding financial structures for newly acquired or built‑from‑scratch companies. Team Leadership: Directly supervise and mentor the Accounting Manager and the Billings department, ensuring operational efficiency, accurate general ledger maintenance, and timely billing processes. Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Support the development and maintenance of annual budgets and periodic forecasting. Partner with department heads to analyze variances and provide strategic financial insights. Audit & Compliance: Coordinate and lead responses for yearly external and internal audits. Ensure rigorous compliance with relevant financial standards and industry regulations. Process & Systems Optimization: Evaluate, enhance, and streamline financial systems to support a large enterprise setup. Maintain data integrity across all accounting platforms. Qualifications & Education: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. MBA or CPA preferred (MBA highly valued). Experience: 5–7+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience within a large enterprise or sophisticated multi‑site corporate setup. Industry Background: Experience in large‑scale service industries or multi‑site healthcare operations is required (e.g., clinics, urgent cares, ER networks, pharmacy, or mental health operations). Regulatory/Clinic Exposure: Direct involvement or familiarity with Article 28 or Article 31 clinics is highly preferred. A background in the Pharmacy sector is a strong plus. (Traditional home care experience is not required). Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills are strictly required for data management and modeling. Experience with Workday is a strong plus (not required). Strong proficiency in enterprise‑level accounting software and financial management systems.
