Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Take your occupational therapy expertise to a school-based setting supporting students’ growth near Disputanta, VA. This part-time, contract opportunity focuses on empowering young learners to develop essential life and classroom skills, making a lasting impact on their educational experience. Enjoy a balanced schedule with 20-25 hours per week, working closely with approximately 24 students across a variety of needs and backgrounds.
Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience or strong interest in working in school settings
- Understanding of IEPs and the special education process
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, families, and support staff
- Ability to adapt creative interventions for diverse student needs
- Organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and schedules
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to a caseload of about 24 students weekly
- Conduct evaluations, write and implement IEP goals, and monitor progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and support student plans
- Document session notes and communicate outcomes with faculty and families
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to support fine motor, sensory, and visual-motor development
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights for student growth and advocacy
