Overview of the Role and QualificationsYour responsibilities will include conducting thorough nursing assessments to evaluate the health status of patients, adhering to established care standards and disease-specific protocols. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing patient care strategies to improve outcomes and utilize resources effectively. Additionally, you will deliver direct nursing care and oversee non-licensed nursing personnel within the RN’s scope of practice, following established guidelines. Providing education and emotional support tailored to the patient's age, culture, condition, and circumstances will be essential, as will integrating patient and family education into all nursing activities.
Required Qualifications- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
- Preferred knowledge in dysrhythmia recognition, cardiovascular disease pathophysiology, cardiovascular/pulmonary assessment, and basic exercise physiology.
- Skills in cardiopulmonary assessment, computer proficiency, and educational planning; a holistic approach to patient education is essential, along with experience working with older adults.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Must hold a valid registered nurse license in the state(s) of practice or possess an active compact license, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Preferred certifications include ACSM Exercise Specialist, Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, or ANA Cardiac Rehabilitation certification.
- A minimum of one year of experience in ICU, CCU, or other critical care nursing is required; experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation is preferred.

Our facility is a full-service hospital with over 80 beds, serving Lee’s Summit and its surrounding areas.
