Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing manufacturing organization. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, performing account reconciliations, and supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and maintain bank, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Process and record invoices, payments, receipts, and other accounting transactions.
• Assist with inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations, adjustments, and analysis.
• Assist with standard cost and variance analysis and investigate significant fluctuations.
• Maintain accurate records for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with financial reporting and preparation of monthly management reports.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in the general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed.
• Support external audits, tax filings, and other accounting-related requests.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing, distribution, or other product-based environment.
• Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Familiarity with inventory accounting and manufacturing cost concepts preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and basic data analysis.
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system such as NetSuite, SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader accounting and operations team.
• Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
