Position Overview

Empower Concierge Rehab and PT is currently seeking a dedicated and adaptable Full-Time Floater Physical Therapist (DPT) to join our dynamic rehabilitation facility in Deerfield Beach, Florida. This unique role allows the therapist to float between various orthopedic outpatient clinics and rehabilitation units, providing essential care where it is most needed. You will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive physical therapy assessments and personalized treatment interventions designed to enhance mobility, alleviate pain, and promote overall patient wellness.

Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite within our clinics located in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The work setting is varied, ranging from outpatient orthopedic clinics to specialized rehabilitation areas within the hospital system. The therapist will engage with a diverse patient base, including those recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic conditions requiring rehabilitation support. The full-time schedule will typically run Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional flexibility based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations to assess patients' needs and functional capabilities, thereby developing tailored rehabilitation plans.
• Implement evidence-based treatment strategies alongside hands-on techniques, utilizing modalities such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and patient education.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nursing staff, and other therapists, ensuring continuity and cohesion in patient care.
• Provide support across multiple facilities, transitioning smoothly between various clinical settings based on staffing requirements.
• Ensure precise and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans in compliance with organizational policies and state regulations.
• Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation programs, effective mobility strategies, ergonomic principles, and injury prevention techniques.
• Participate in discharge planning and promote a seamless transition for patients returning to their home environment or next levels of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population you will serve includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, traumatic injuries, and chronic pain disorders. You will work with patients at varying stages of recovery, providing therapeutic interventions aimed at enhancing their physical functions and overall well-being. This diversity allows you to leverage a broad spectrum of therapeutic techniques while building relationships with patients as they progress on their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program is required.
• A valid Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida, or eligibility to obtain one prior to employment.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred; however, new graduates with strong clinical rotation experiences will be considered.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical reasoning, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• A willingness to travel between hospital sites within the region, with mileage reimbursement or provision of a company vehicle.
• Flexibility in work schedule, with the capacity to adapt to occasional weekend and holiday rotations to meet patient needs.

Preferred Experience

While 2 years of experience in a relevant therapeutic environment is desired, we value passion for physical therapy and patient care. New graduates with exemplary clinical internships and eager to learn are encouraged to apply.
