This position is designed for a remote work setup while engaging with clients primarily through telehealth. The outpatient office serves as our primary facility for in-person services when necessary. Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Excela Behavioral Health, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to develop individualized treatment plans that address identified emotional and psychological challenges.

• Collaborating with clients to create pre-crisis and crisis intervention strategies, including risk assessments and behavioral guidelines.

• Utilizing evidence-based screening tools and methodologies to ensure effective diagnosis and therapy.

• Maintaining detailed records of client progress and treatment outcomes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and timely documentation.

• Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to devise and implement positive behavior support strategies that align with client goals.

• Participating actively in accreditation processes and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that all practices meet industry standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be working with a diverse clientele seeking support for issues related to mental health, substance use disorders, and various psychosocial challenges. Our clients range from individuals recovering from trauma to those facing everyday emotional difficulties. Your role will be crucial in fostering understanding, trust, and rapport, helping clients navigate their personal challenges toward recovery and wellness.

Qualifications\n

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a related field.

• A completed full-time clinical internship in a mental health setting is required.

• Eligibility for licensure by the state of New York is mandatory.

• A valid driver’s license in good standing.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, experience in outpatient mental health counseling, familiarity with electronic health record systems, and particular expertise in crisis intervention techniques are desirable. Compensation and Benefits\n
