Empower middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained resource room setting for the upcoming academic year. This contract-based opportunity offers the chance to work in a supportive environment dedicated to student growth, located near Dearborn, MI. Service dates run full time from August 31, 2024, to June 25, 2025.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Michigan teaching license with a Special Education endorsement (certification must be included with your application)
• Experience in resource room or self-contained special education environments, ideally at the middle school level
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Ability to collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction for a middle school caseload in a resource room on site
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum, teaching methods, and learning materials to meet diverse needs
• Track and document student progress in accordance with district and state guidelines
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere
• Work closely with families and other education professionals to support student development
