Position Overview

Empower Mind Wellness Hub is seeking a passionate and qualified Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to become an integral part of our dynamic School Mental Health Team. In this full-time, remote position, you will provide crucial mental health services to students at a detox center based in Oakland, California. Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to provide services to students from various backgrounds while benefiting from a supportive virtual community of healthcare professionals. While remote, you will maintain a collaborative spirit, participating in team meetings and consultations to ensure you are engaging effectively with students and their individualized mental health care plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough mental health evaluations for students on the detox center's roster, taking into account their unique histories, presenting issues, and existing support systems.
• Create tailored treatment plans in collaboration with students that address their mental health concerns, strengthen emotional resilience, and facilitate a healthy transition into the school environment.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care, to address diverse mental health challenges.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing students with a safe space to explore personal growth, practice coping skills, and enhance emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals – such as psychiatrists and psychologists – to create a cohesive care plan tailored to each student’s needs.
• Respond to mental health crises by providing immediate intervention, employing de-escalation techniques, and making necessary referrals for higher levels of care as required.
• Engage with students and their families through psychoeducation, equipping them with knowledge about mental health conditions, available resources, and treatment options.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of all interactions, assessments, and treatments in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings to foster collaboration, share insights, and enhance collective expertise.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in mental health laws and ethical practices relevant to school settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will significantly impact a diverse student body that often faces complex emotional and behavioral challenges, primarily young people affected by substance abuse and mental health issues. By providing targeted interventions and support, you will help these students reclaim their academic journeys and personal stability.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
• Active LCSW licensure in the state of California.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, preferably within mental health or educational settings.
• Strong foundational knowledge of various mental health disorders, evidenced by your proficiency in current treatment methodologies, especially trauma-informed care.
• Experience in conducting effective mental health assessments and creating appropriate treatment plans.
• Demonstrated capacity for both individual and group therapy delivery, utilizing a variety of evidence-based approaches.
• Expertise in crisis intervention and the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with individuals from varied backgrounds.
• Understanding of electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer literacy.

Compensation and Benefits

Empower Mind Wellness Hub offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
