The MEP Coordinator is responsible for managing all components of construction project related to Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Low Voltage, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, Balancing, and BMS/BAS Controls. Thoroughly understands the MEPF designs through review of Basis of Design, Drawings (plans), specifications and applicable code requirements. Understands the design intent of Architectural Design Documents including interfaces with Architectural, Structural, and Civil Design Consultants and trade partners. Reviews contract documents and makes suggestions/modifications as they relate to MEPF trades. The MEP Coordinator combines a wide technical knowledge of these fields with the management skills necessary to coordinate the work of a variety of different employees both within the office and field environments.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000 annually

Job Responsibilities include supporting the owner, architect, and MEPF designer in planning and installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm and low-voltage systems, soliciting and hiring personnel, managing MEPF design and lead coordination efforts during Preconstruction, working closely with project team members, facilitating field coordination, overseeing work performed in the field, inspecting subcontractors work, closely monitoring installation, verifying equipment and materials, developing and implementing start-up and testing work, assisting in development of full commissioning plans, working with commissioning agents, ensuring schedule adherence, maintaining contact and communications, walking the jobsite daily, reviewing plans on site, and hosting jobsite coordination meetings.

Qualifications include a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent education, minimum 5 years of experience directly managing the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Low Voltage, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, Test & Balance, BMS/BAS Controls trades, general understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes, ability to manage MEPF Design & Coordination using 3D software tools and BIM processes, proficient in managing all components of construction project tasks relating to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, ability to run complex meetings, ability to identify and resolve complex issues, knowledge of local professionals and firms, excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated with high degree of ethics and integrity, able to work independently with minimal supervision, honest, objective speaker and attentive listener with the ability to accept constructive criticism.

Physical Demands include sitting, communicating, reaching and manipulating objects, tools or controls, mobility, moving materials weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis, manual dexterity and coordination over 50% of the work period while operating equipment.

Work Environment includes collaboration, team building, strong supervisor/employee relationship, not performed in a remote capacity, completion of work in an office/job site setting, use of standard office equipment.
