Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Orthopedic Focus)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week Available | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit with a focus on orthopedic and neuro spine patients
• Manage pain effectively for post-surgical, orthopedic, and spine patients requiring close monitoring
• Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring as part of routine patient care
• Maintain patient ratios of approximately 5–6:1, with occasional flex up to 7:1 in extreme circumstances
• Float to other Medical Surgical units within the facility as needed to meet staffing and census demands
• Care for a diverse patient population including orthopedic, neuro spine, general med-surg, and post-surgical patients

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience with required orthopedic nursing experience
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Current BLS (BCLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification
• Charge Nurse experience
• Level I Trauma experience
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records (required for first-time travelers)
