Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant in our surgical center located in Smithtown, NY, you will engage in a collaborative and supportive environment. The position demands direct patient interactions, and you will work primarily in an onsite capacity during standard business hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients suffering from various pain conditions, utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques.
• Perform interventional pain management procedures under the supervision of attending physicians, including injections, nerve blocks, and other minimally invasive techniques.
• Work collaboratively with a case management team to ensure effective discharge planning, follow-up care, and continuity of care for patients transitioning from inpatient to outpatient settings.
• Evaluate referrals from physicians and provide expert consultation regarding hospitalization and other interventions based on specific patient needs.
• Document patient encounters comprehensively to meet compliance with insurance requirements, actively participating in appeals processes for denial management.
• Engage with both inpatient and outpatient populations, responding to on-call situations as necessary to ensure timely care delivery.

You will work primarily with adult patients, addressing a diverse range of pain-related issues. Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• An active Physician Assistant licensure in the state of New York.

Compensation and Benefits
