Accounting Specialist

Job Description Growth oriented commercial services company in the McKinney Texas area is looking for an Accounting Professional with 7+ years of experience. The company is looking for the right person for this growth oriented position who will be responsible for full charge accounting activities. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for performing timely and accurate record keeping in QuickBooks for multiple companies within the client. The Accounting Specialist will work closely with the accounting leadership team and will be responsible for full charge accounting activities, which include but are not limited to, recording daily and monthly transactions in the general ledger, reconciling accounts, supporting month‑end close activities and financial statement preparation, developing and maintaining internal controls and supporting various accounting projects as needed. Responsibilities Reconcile daily sales transactions and cash receipts and record them in the general ledger. Responsible for fixed assets, including maintaining ledgers, preparing supporting documentation and recording depreciation, acquisitions, transfers, disposals, gain/loss on sale of fixed assets. Maintain schedules for fleet to record depreciation, amortization, and leasing transactions. Coordinate and lead inventory count of fixed assets for all companies and locations. Prepare and submit property tax renditions for 4 operating companies with multiple locations. Prepare intercompany invoices and record invoice transactions in the separate companies. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support review and analysis of income‑statement accounts. Perform and support certain month‑end and quarter‑end close activities. Assist/backup other positions in the Accounting Department including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Collections and Billing as required. Qualifications and Experience Associates degree in accounting, Finance a plus. Relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience including general ledger, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and accounts payable. Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), QuickBooks and Service Titan programs. Working knowledge of accounting policies and procedures. Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. Motivated, detail‑oriented, and highly organized. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work as a team to complete duties and projects with minimal supervision. Benefits and Compensation Great benefits and culture. Family owned organization with multiple entities. Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday. Will need to work overtime when necessary. Pay Range: $26.00–$29.81 DOE.
