Accountant / HR & Payroll Administrator

Location: Annapolis, MD (Fully Onsite) Employment Type: Direct Hire / Permanent Salary: Up to $65,000 + Comprehensive Benefits

Position Overview Our client, a small and collaborative professional services organization, is seeking an Accountant / HR & Payroll Administrator to support accounting, payroll, benefits administration, and HR operations. This is a highly visible role that works closely with leadership and requires someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small-business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities using QuickBooks Online
• Perform account reconciliations, financial reporting, and budgeting support
• Process and maintain payroll through Paylocity, including bonuses and payroll adjustments
• Assist with year-end accounting activities and 990-related documentation
• Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits administration and coordination with the company's healthcare partner
• Support HR back-office functions, employee records, compliance, and benefits reviews
• Maintain accurate financial and employee data while ensuring strong attention to detail

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks Online required
• Strong Excel skills
• Payroll experience strongly preferred, especially with Paylocity
• Exposure to HR administration, benefits, or office management functions is a plus
• Open to recent accounting graduates with QuickBooks experience or experienced professionals seeking a flexible small-business environment
• Strong work ethic, accuracy, and ability to work independently
