Video Data Collector (Insta360 X-series)

Role Overview

Capture high-quality first-person video of everyday activities to support the training of next-generation AI systems. This remote contractor opportunity is open to contributors in the UK, Canada, India, Singapore, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Begin by recording natural first-person footage with a personal smartphone and head strap while provided Insta360 equipment is being prepared.
• Set up and operate Insta360 X-series cameras, including framing, recording settings, video-file management, and reframing and exporting footage through Insta360 Studio.
• Troubleshoot basic camera settings, storage, transfer, and export issues.
• Independently identify suitable shooting locations within approved settings while following privacy, consent, and safety protocols.
• Use provided video equipment and updated workflows for recordings in public, commercial, and outdoor environments.
• Coordinate group recordings when needed and obtain all required written consent and permissions from participants.
• Maintain accurate metadata, reliable data quality, and deliverables that meet project guidelines.
• Report progress, challenges, and clarification needs to project coordinators.

Qualifications

• Experience with video capture or similar data-collection work, with strong attention to detail.
• Experience using Insta360 X-series cameras such as the X3, X4, or X5. Current ownership of an Insta360 X-series camera is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with INSV files and Insta360 Studio for reframing and exporting footage.
• Reliable access to a high-quality personal smartphone suitable for initial video recording.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and accuracy in submissions and correspondence.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and meet privacy, consent, and metadata requirements.
• Comfort recording in home and public environments, coordinating with others for group assignments, and adapting to new workflows and equipment.

Work Terms

• Remote independent contractor engagement.
• Available to contributors located in the UK, Canada, India, Singapore, South Africa, New Zealand, or Australia.

Compensation

$8 to $17 per hour.
