Sr. Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Experience initializing and adding DASD and tape volumes, and performing storage-space management such as VTOC resizing, defragmentation, compression, reclamation, release, and dataset cleanup.
• Ability to manage and define SMS rules and ACS routines, and reorganize storage datasets, including HSM CDS and catalog files.
• Experience with catalog management and reorganization using Catalog Recovery Plus.
• Familiarity with audits and RACF/ACF2 security rules.
• Knowledge of storage products and technologies including HSM, Vantage, STOPX37, DSS, JCL, VSAM, CA1, CSM, DS8K, VTS (TS7700), and GDPS replication, with the ability to apply technology to changing customer and business needs.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems within expected timeframes, prepare root-cause analyses, and meet service-level submission requirements.
• Willingness to participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and off-hours technology events.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for activities such as coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, including setting expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations; ability to coach engineers in safe, compliant adoption.
• Preferred: Experience planning disaster recovery and conducting recovery tests involving tape recovery, DASD replication, or tape replication, and managing copy services or GDPS.
• Preferred: Ability to develop, document, and maintain procedures for system utilities, including backup and restore, performance tuning, environment configuration, and incremental backups.
• Preferred: Programming skills in REXX or other languages.
• Preferred: Familiarity with ZOWE or other mainframe AI capabilities.
• Preferred: Effective communication and collaboration skills, including presenting to and participating with peers and team members.
• Preferred: Experience developing automation, tools, reports, and utilities to support mainframe access administration.

• Apply technical expertise and problem-solving methods to projects of moderate scope.
• Lead a workstream or project involving one or more infrastructure engineering technologies.
• Collaborate with other platforms to design and implement changes that resolve issues and modernize our organization and technology processes.
• Develop creative solutions for design, development, and technical troubleshooting of moderately complex problems.
• Assess upstream and downstream data, systems, and technical impacts, and recommend mitigation measures.
• Contribute to a team culture grounded in diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
• Encourage team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish validation practices such as secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and promote effective patterns across the team.
