This position is structured to be primarily remote, allowing for therapeutic interactions from the comfort of your own space while maintaining a connection to our outpatient office in Lowell, Massachusetts. Key Responsibilities\n

• Deliver individual and family therapy sessions in the home or outpatient setting, tailoring approaches to meet the unique needs of each client.

• Implement therapeutic strategies that aim to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, using evidence-based methods like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

• Facilitate workshops and training sessions for caregivers to enhance their decision-making skills and parenting strategies to manage in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with Child Family Treatment Teams and other professionals, participating in integrated treatment planning to ensure comprehensive care.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all treatment activities, including conducting intakes, developing treatment plans, and progress notes.
\n
• Engage in regular supervisory meetings to discuss client progress, update treatment approaches, and share insights or recommendations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role will be on children and adolescents aged 3-20, particularly those dealing with developmental disabilities and intellectual disabilities. As an LMFT, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships with this vulnerable population, addressing both emotional and behavioral challenges through individualized treatment approaches that empower clients and their families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is mandatory.

• Current and unrestricted LMFT licensure in the state of Massachusetts is required.
\n
• Availability of 5-10 hours per week during post-school hours (4-7 PM) is essential; weekend availability is highly desirable.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for in-home visits are necessary.
\n
• Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and implementing skills training for children with behavioral difficulties.

• Prior hands-on experience working with children and adolescents with intellectual or developmental disabilities, enhancing their coping skills and social integration.

• Bilingual capabilities in Spanish or Portuguese are highly valued and will greatly enhance client rapport and service delivery.
