To learn more about Swords to Plowshares, please visit our website at Job Title: Program Monitor 12am-8am - JWP Location: Jon W Paulson Veterans Community, 1030 Girard Road Reporting Type: In-person Employment Type: Non-exempt and full-time Salary Range: $23.81 per hour Summary: The Program Monitor is the gatekeeper to the Residences—and enforces Swords to Plowshares safety and security policies and procedures in service of Swords to Plowshares tenants. Program Monitors monitor daily building activities, provide 24-hour security, and respond to building and tenant emergencies. As the first point of contact for visitors to our properties, Program Monitors are required to exhibit professional, courteous and respectful conduct to tenants and building guests, enforcing property rules while creating a welcoming environment. The position is supervised by the Assistant Property Manager. Responsibilities Maintain building security by reviewing cameras and making rounds of entryways. Assist the Building Manager with administrative tasks as directed. Maintain a clean and presentable work area, building entry, and lobby Accurately complete incident reports and complaints Follow all rules and procedures outlined in the Swords Personnel Policy Manual and STP Community Rules Must communicate effectively with various personalities and be comfortable embracing the agency’s principles of Cultural Humility. Monitor daily common area activities of building residents and guests. Maintain complete and accurate building logs (wellness log, visitor log, vendor log, overnight log, daily log) Maintain complete and accurate shift reports of activities, repairs, tenant requests, deliveries, and services Screens all visitors to the building Respond to building emergencies in compliance with the Property Management manual Engage in courteous and respectful communications with tenants, guest, and vendors Assist tenants with the completion of work orders, incident reports, and complaints Replenish and make copies of all necessary paperwork, work orders, incident reports, and grievances Complete an accurate daily shift report and incident reports before completion of shift Maintain 86 list and inform Property Management of any updates Monthly supervision with supervisor Attend monthly program monitor meetings Must be able to perform all tasks as assigned by management with what would be considered reasonable accommodation. Please note that responsibilities may vary by site Ability to effectively communicate in English with staff, clients, and external partners and stakeholders. Desired Qualifications Minimum of 3 years experience working with “hard to serve” populations like mental health issues, substance abuse etc. Translatable military experience and skills may be alternatively substituted Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions Applicants are required to learn basic computer word processing and databases, etc. Ability to appropriately respond to and defuse tension Applicants with de-escalation and conflict resolution training recognized An understanding of and experience working with issues of homelessness and recovery issues Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working with an at‑risk client population, including embracing the agency’s Cultural Humility Initiative Education High school diploma or equivalent Benefits 100% employer sponsored medical, vision, acupuncture, and dental coverage. Vacation and sick time are pro-rated based upon full-time equivalent percentage.
