Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary assessments, documenting clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health from the initial point of contact throughout the duration of treatment.

• Evaluate clinical needs and develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and grouped sessions to facilitate effective therapy.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques and therapeutic modalities to address a variety of mental health challenges.
\n
• Monitor and track client progress in relation to established treatment goals, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to create comprehensive care strategies.

• Manage client referrals efficiently and provide appropriate follow-up care, ensuring clients receive the support they need throughout their recovery journey.

• Respond to emergencies with a proactive approach, identifying behaviors that may impede recovery and implementing preventive strategies.

• Engage with family members and primary caregivers to provide guidance on managing mental and behavioral health challenges effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals grappling with a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. You will engage with diverse populations, tailoring your therapeutic approaches to meet their distinct needs and challenges. By addressing both psychological and emotional aspects, you will help clients navigate their path to recovery and enhance their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in New Jersey is essential for this position.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is required.

• Previous experience as a mental health counselor, with a demonstrable track record of effective client outcomes.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, to track patient progress and maintain accurate documentation.

• Strong understanding of co-occurring physical and mental health conditions, including addiction disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical guidelines.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities, are critical.
